GSM-R mobile signal ensures safer operation on East Bohemian backbone line
Not only the whole line from Pardubice to Jaroměř, but also the section from Hradec Králové to Praskačka on the link between the regional capital and Chlumec nad Cidlinou, has received the GSM-R digital radio system. Workers constructed the technological objects, including the necessary antenna masts, and laid fibre optic cables. The construction also included the installation of the necessary technology, the construction of dispatcher terminals and the delivery of GSM-R mobile radios for Správa železnic staff.
The GSM-R system is similar to the public mobile network, it is used for signal transmission within the framework of the single European Train Control System (ETCS). Its installation is already underway on the line from Pardubice to Hradec Králové, and in 2028, the subsequent section to Jaroměř will be next.
The contractors of the construction were the companies Kontron Transportation and Teplotechna Ostrava. The total investment costs amounted to CZK 242,902,928.
The Project GSM-R Pardubice – Hradec Králové – Jaroměř was co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Programme Transport 2021–2027. The total amount of eligible costs is CZK 209,138,621. The EU support rate is 85 % of the eligible costs, so the maximum amount of subsidy can be CZK 177,767,827. National financing was provided by Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury (State Fund for Transport Infrastructure).Soubory ke stažení
