New station building in Radotín begins to serve the public
The construction of a new check-in hall in Prague Radotín followed the modernisation of the line section in the direction of Smíchov. It replaced the existing inadequate station building, which will be used, for example, as a municipal police station.
“The railway offers the citizens of Radotín the fastest connection with the centre of the capital. Trains are therefore widely used here. The same will certainly be true of the modern station building,” the Minister of Transport Martin Kupka is convinced.
The glass construction covers 143 square metres. “In addition to the necessary facilities, people will find a café with an outdoor terrace and will also be able to use the gastronomic services. We are planning to start the operation at the beginning of next year,” says Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic.
The station building will be heated in winter and cooled in summer. Automatically opening doors with an air curtain will provide protection against the outside cold. There will also be signboards with information about train departures, together with acoustic transcription of information for the sightless.
The passenger toilets will be accessed via turnstiles, the fee can be paid in cash or cashless. Bicycle stands and an electric bike charger will be installed at the outdoor terrace.
The construction Reconstruction of the station building of the railway station Praha-Radotín is proposed for funding by the European Union from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) within the National Recovery Plan. The total investment costs amount to CZK 53,167,000. The contractor of the works was the company STRABAG Rail.
