Správa železnic is preparing architectural competition for Hranice na Moravě railway station

The new station in Hranice na Moravě will increase the accessibility of railway, including the high-speed railway. The transfer junction will be part of the new railway connection Praha – Brno – Ostrava. The competition is expected to be announced in early spring.

Správa železnic will launch the already fourth architectural competition related to the high-speed railway. The result will be the elaboration of an architectural-urban design of the transfer junction in Hranice. In addition to shorter transfers and fast railway connections to Ostrava, Olomouc and Brno, it will offer passengers hassle-free parking thanks to the P+R system, subsequent public transport lines or services. Thanks to the location of the terminal, high-speed and conventional railway and bus transportation will be connected in one building. Passengers can easily transfer to a train as well, for example, a train to Valašské Meziříčí and on to Slovakia. This concept will help to significantly increase the mobility of the inhabitants of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian Regions.

The assignment is characterised by a solution to the availability of high-speed trains. Instead of building a new terminal directly on the high-speed line, it is planned to use the branches from the high-speed line and to modify the existing station. The town of Hranice will thus be better connected with fast rail transport.

The terminal will be a separate procurement, but fully coordinated with the section HSL Moravská brána I (HSL Moravian Gate I), which is planned from Hranice to Brodek u Přerova.

The design competition will be announced as an anonymous, one-phase, open and architectural-urban design competition. Správa železnic will inform about the announcement of the public contract through the profile of the contracting authority (EZAK).
