Stations and stops between Brno and Blansko offer convenient access to trains
Today Správa železnic festively completed the modernisation of two sections of the first railway corridor for more than CZK 7 billion. In addition to the reconstruction of the railway infrastructure, the works from Brno to Adamov and between Adamov and Blansko also included the renovation of stops and rehabilitation of tunnels. The train service recommenced on 11 December last year after a year-long stop of operation, this year mainly finishing works were carried out.
Operational Programme Transport continues on railway, new period has started
The first construction of Správa železnic has secured funding under the next cycle of the Operational Programme Transport. At the end of March, the Ministry of Transport approved the first infrastructure project co-financed by the European Union from this programme for the period 2021–2027. This was the installation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) between Ústí nad Orlicí and Lichkov.
Thanks to Správa železnic's care, Fanta building is regaining its former splendour
Opening of the renovated premises in the historic Fanta building at Prague Main Station is approaching. Správa železnic is completing the restoration of the interiors of the Art Nouveau building, work on which began in autumn 2021. The premises, which are being restored to their original appearance under the conservationists supervision, were opened to the public today in an extraordinary way. The construction work will be completed in the summer and, once the building is given the final approval, the renovated halls are expected to be fully open in the autumn. New HSLmobile heads to regions to promote preparation of high-speed lines
Already in April, the new VRTmobil (HSLmobile) will head to the regions to bring the preparation of high-speed lines (HSL) closer to the people in their vicinity. Its main objective is to strengthen the communication of the project. The mobile information centre was presented for the first time today at the conference Železnice 2023 (Railway 2023) organised by SUDOP Praha together with Správa železnic.
Railway station Opava západ serves passengers again, Traffic Police moves in
Completely reconstructed building of the railway station Opava západ (Opava West) was opened today. The new foyer, ticket office and sanitary facilities offer a comfortable and barrier-free environment to passengers. At the same time, dozens of Opava Traffic Police officers are moving into the building. The total investment costs amounted to CZK 104 million. Works were carried out by the company Metrostav DIZ.
We search for ETCS contractor for more than 100 km section on Elbe's left bank
Správa železnic has announced a tender for the design and implementation of the ETCS installation on a more than 100-kilometre-long section from the state border with Germany to Kralupy nad Vltavou. This is the first contract in the field of the introduction of the European train control system, which addresses the construction directly for the exclusive operation of ETCS, including subsequent servicing throughout the lifetime of the equipment. The selected contractor will then carry out the construction work, certification of the entire system and its maintenance after the completion of the designs and acquisition of the relevant permits. Total investment cost of the project is CZK 11.8 billion.

Správa železnic completed another stage of Přerov railway junction reconstruction
Second construction in the Přerov railway junction, which followed the earlier reconstruction of the entire railway station, was completed, it included the reconstruction of the Dluhonice overtaking station and adjacent line sections. The modernisation significantly improved travel comfort, increased safety and made trains run faster.
Reconstruction of the Vsetín station moves to the very city centre
Future common check-in terminal, which will replace the existing station building, is growing rapidly in Vsetín. A new technological building is built in the station area and the foundations of a multi-storey car park are being concreted. While last year was mainly marked by the reconstruction of the tracks towards Velké Karlovice, this year will see the modernisation of the track facility, the construction of a terminal and a pedestrian underpass directly in the station.
Freight trains will return to the railway bridge over the Elbe tomorrow
First trains will start using the reconstructed line section between the stations Děčín východ (Děčín East) and Děčín-Prostřední Žleb tomorrow, which plays an important role in freight transport between the Czech Republic and Germany. One of the biggest challenges for the builders was the replacement of the more than 100-year-old steel structure of the bridge over the Elbe River and the complete rehabilitation of the Děčín Tunnel.
